Application: Electromagnetic Shielding of Toll Plazas

Gatorbar in Electromagnetic Shielding of Toll Plazas

In toll plazas, where sensors and scanners rely on clean electromagnetic signals, FRP prevents signal interference. Steel can act as a conductor and antenna, creating unwanted EMI or radiofrequency interference. GatorBar, being non-conductive, eliminates these risks—critical for toll plaza transponders, inductive loops, and RFID readers. RFID, DSRC, or wireless sensors can operate with higher accuracy and fewer misreads, reducing transaction errors from attenuated or scattered signals from vehicle transponders.

Contractors gain easier handling, consistent quality, and reliable delivery support—keeping schedules on track and inspections hassle-free.

Grade 155 Tensile Strength

Whereas steel rebar has typical tensile strengths of 40 - 60 ksi, GatorBar has a tensile strength of 155 ksi — the equivalent to a Grade 155! This allows use of smaller rebar sizes and still realizing superior strength.

Better Bar. Better Concrete.

GatorBar’s higher tensile strength will significantly outperform steel rebar in holding any cracks together. The material also will not rust and expand like steel does, destroying concrete from the inside out.

Work Smarter.

Not Harder.
