This week has been all Kraft Hockeyville in our hometown of Calumet, MI. Tonight will be the featured pre-season game between the Detroit Red Wings and the Saint Louis Blues. It will be played at the Calumet Colosseum, the oldest ice rink in the world to still be in use in its original form. The first game was played at the Colosseum in 1914! Kraft Hockeyville donated money for many upgrades to the rink, including remodeled locker rooms, upgraded cooling system for the ice, and new heaters for fans in the stands.
This event has made quite the impact on our tight-knit community, offering a once in a lifetime opportunity for kids to meet NHL players and watch an NHL game on their home ice. The spotlight on Calumet has brought in many people to our area and will continue to have a positive impact for years to come.
From everyone in the Keweenaw Peninsula, Thank You to Kraft Hockeyville for this amazing event!
