Neuvokas reports that it has achieved a process speed of 150 ft/min (45.72 m/min) for its continuous fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) rebar production.
“While this accomplishment is gratifying, we look forward to achieving our new goal of 250 ft/min (76.2 m/min) in 2018,” notes the company's Chief Executive Officer Erik Kiilunen.
Neuvokas, based in Ahmeek, Michigan, US, manufactures and distributes FRP rebar made from basalt fibre under the GatorBar brand. The company reports that at current speeds, it is able to sell its FRP rebar at prices competitive with steel competitors.
